Digg is the fastest way to get your blog to the top

This is a great post on Digg versus other bookmarketing tools.

Google Reader and Digg could be better

Does anyone who likes to get their daily internet news from google reader find it annoying to have to read the articles from a separate tab on IE?   I am required to read google reader from a separate tab on my browser because I am signed up for so many rss feeds.  At one point, I uploaded google reader to my igoogle page but it would take forever and a half to actually be able to see the latest posts because igoogle took forever to download them.  Granted, I get over 500 posts in a week that I like to sort through.  So now I am back to looking at Google reader on a separate tab on IE and firefox.  And I just think the design could be so much better!!  Does anyone out there agree with me on this point?  Does anyone have any suggestions for a better way to manage all my subscriptions?  I do have them categorized on topic and that is nice.  But I am overwhelmed with google reader.  Even getting the individual blog feeds on the google homepage does only so much for my reading pleasure.

Oh and one other thing.  You can only share the blog excerpt when one clicks on the topic in google reader to friends that are using shared google reader.  Wouldn’t it make sense to have other social bookmarking tools there in the blurb?  Sometimes I only need to read the first paragraph of the post and then I want to share the post with my friends.  But I have to click on the title of the post which takes me to the actual blog in order to find the other social bookmarketing tools.  I guess the issue would be that the blog/website might not see traffic to their post if people only read the post in google reader?  How does that work?

Additionally, does anyone out there think that digg’s right side bar filtering header in the friend’s activity tab to be sort of confusing and unorganized?
